Edge Computing

Edge computing plays a crucial role in enabling at-home BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) for kids. By bringing computational power and data processing closer to the edge devices, such as wearable EEG devices, edge computing minimizes the need for constant data transmission to remote servers.

In this project, our goal is to harness the power of edge computing. By leveraging edge computing for BCI4Kids, we can greatly improve the performance, efficiency, and usability of the system. With edge computing technology, we can process data locally on the edge devices, minimizing the need for extensive data transfer to centralized servers. This leads to reduced latency, faster response times, and enhanced real-time processing capabilities, all of which are essential for creating a seamless and interactive BCI experience for children. Moreover, edge computing strengthens privacy and security by keeping sensitive data localized and minimizing the potential risks associated with data transmission over the network. It also enables offline functionality, ensuring uninterrupted BCI usage even in situations where network connectivity may be limited or unavailable. Ultimately, leveraging edge computing empowers us to deliver a more efficient, secure, and user-friendly BCI solution for kids.
